Keepers of the Keys
“Come. Walk within my endless night. You’re eyes will adjust to the darkness in time to see the final twist of my blade in your heart”
Some call them the lost children of Aritahl. The Drow of the vast, cavernous expanses of the Underdark to not take kindly to being lumped in amongst their elven kin. To them, a wrong was committed eons ago by the patron of the surface dwelling elves, and the children of Akorstra will not soon forget it… or forgive it.
Forced to live in a land without sun, the Drow have adapted well to their surroundings, proving to be perhaps the greatest survivors in Avandra, and hold true to that fact in every aspect of their lives.
From a young age, they are taught how the live off the desolate land, the art of subterfuge, and thousands of different ways to take a life. Such training is required if one is to live the day-to-day life within the brutal society of the Drow.
Massive cities, forged of great stalactites and stalagmites, house the sinister rulers of the Drow; The Matrons. In a society dominated by females, the Matrons are the pinnacle of power. From thrones of obsidian they play their deceptive game, slowly bringing down other noble houses and absorbing them, consolidating their power. To date, there is only one male Patron, the exalted ruler of house Desp’rae, who has proven himself to be every bit as calculating, devious, and dangerous as his female counterparts.
Drow skin color runs from jet black to dark purple, and hair that flows in shades of blue, silver, and pure white. They stand between 5’6" and 6’1", and often have a more slender build then their surface dwelling kin. Their frail-looking appearance can often be as deceptive as the rest of them.
